Vivo smartphones will likely receive updates to the Android Pie in the fourth quarter of 2018. Vivo recently test the Android 9 beta in its Vivo X21, a Vivo midrange smartphone. So, it is very likely the device will get an update to Android Pie. Another possible Vivo smartphone to get an Android 9 update is the Vivo NEX S which is Vivo 2018 flagship smartphone.
Vivo has been pushing on penetrating the Asain market. Vivo product is mostly sold in China were they are located. Therefore, most of Vivo users live in China. Vivo smartphones are also sold in Nigeria. For example, the Vivo X21 is sold in Nigeria for more 200,000 Naira. While the Vivo V9 is sold for 120,000 Naira. A hand full of people use Vivo smartphones in Nigeria.
In the US, however, Vivo phones are yet to enter the market, as vivo is not making any effort to do so. When Vivo's smartphone consumers will be happy to receive an update for an Android Pie in fourth quarter of 2018.
