Diamond bank, Nigeria Indigenous bank, as claimed it enjoys 40 percent share of the total USSD transactions in Nigeria banking sector. The bank stated this through its head of operations, Alex Alozie.
According to Alex, Diamond bank controls ten million customers and most of whom performed mobile transactions via USSD than on the mobile app. It's short code for carrying out such transactions is *426# and as such claimed 40 percent of USSD transaction in the banking industry.

A reason why Diamond Bank achieve this is as a result of continues customer awareness and education on the use of USSD for mobile banking transaction. Also, both feature phones and regular smartphones can be use to carryout banking transaction via the USSD.
